Digital and social media strategist

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Job description

Are you a digital marketing or social media strategist who wants to use your skills to create positive change in the world? At Banyan, you will work alongside subject matter experts, researchers, writers, developers, and designers for public health and social impact clients such as non-profits and state, local, and federal governmental organizations and agencies to design, activate, and evaluate human-centered, accessible communications materials and experiences that make a difference in people’s lives.

What You’d Do Here (Responsibilities):

  • Ensure up-to-date awareness and understanding of emerging trends and best practices to be a go-to resource for colleagues, clients, and stakeholders about all things digital and social media marketing

  • Strategic and creative thinking to produce high-impact digital and social media marketing strategies and tactics across social platforms

  • Understanding of how to organize and optimize content across digital media, social media platforms, and email marketing to measurably reach and engage audiences

  • Concept, plan, iterate, and deliver design assets for print and digital campaigns; web and interactive experiences; and infographics, posters, presentations, and other collateral

  • Write, proofread, and copyedit high-quality digital and social media content

  • Conduct audience segmentation activities, such as audience research, persona development, and moderate online communities

  • Plan, activate, and monitor organic and paid media tactics for multiple digital and social media channels, including managing budget allocations for paid content

  • Apply analytical know-how to produce client-ready products that include audience data and insights, web analytics, social media metrics, and media monitoring insights to inform actionable recommendations to enhance reach and engagement

  • Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators to evaluate and communicate evidence-based recommendations for optimizations

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients by participating or facilitating communications and meetings with clients and partners to achieve agreed-upon outcomes

Technical Skills/Programs

  • Microsoft Office

  • Google Suite

  • Expertise in Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, and Google Ads

  • Analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics)

  • Expertise in Facebook Ads Manager and Google Ads

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or Public Affairs with an emphasis on digital or social media marketing

  • 2+ years in consulting or billable environment

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook,Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), including paid media management, audience configuration, analytics, and best practices and trends across platforms

  • Experience activating and evaluating organic and paid social, search, display, and YouTube advertising

Additional Qualifications/skills/programs etc. (not required, but would set you apart)

  • Experience in health communications

  • Experience working with federal agencies

  • Strong client engagement and project management skills

  • Supervision or team lead background

Compensation:

Openings for this position exist at multiple levels and compensation ranges. Compensation for Digital Strategist roles at Banyan range from $85,000 to $100,000 commensurate with experience and role level. The hiring team will be able to provide and discuss the relevant salary range with each applicant during their interview process.
